No One Seems to Like Flock Cameras but Here’s How They May Help Your Personal Injury Case.

Flock cameras have cropped up on various street corners throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, bringing with them controversy and perturbing private residents.

The solar-powered network of cameras uses artificial intelligence to read license plates and can record and analyze audio to identify sounds like gunfire or car accidents, according to reporting from The Miami Herald. While the benefits of potential crime and/or accident reporting are obvious, the cameras have left residents uneasy with many protesting their installation on the grounds of ICE and immigration concerns and privacy issues.

In St. Petersburg, a 77-year-old man named Carl Gunn has taken to holding a sign that says “Down with Flock” in front of the camera’s lens. His aim is to highlight the threat to privacy and surveillance posed by the cameras, according to reporting from Cyber News. His stunt has gone viral and has been widely reported by statewide and national media.

Boat Operator in Miami Crash Faces Reckless Boating Accusations. What to Know.

An Atlanta man has been charged following a July 25 boat crash that injured at least three people in Biscayne Bay off Bay Harbor Islands, according to media reports.

The 42-year-old was charged with reckless operation of a vessel, leaving the scene of an accident, and tampering with evidence, according to reporting from WSB-TV Atlanta.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. near West Broadview Drive and 103^rd Street, Local 10 News reported. It involved a 39-foot Donzi allegedly operated by Lawson that carried multiple passengers and a 20-foot Angler that carried at least three people. All three passengers aboard one boat were injured and taken to the hospital following the crash, according to previous reporting from local media.

Two Hospitalized Following Miami Jet Ski Crash. What to Know.

A jet ski collision near the Miami Marine Stadium on Thursday, June 25, resulted in at least two hospitalizations, officials said.

The personal watercraft (PWC) incident occurred off the Rickenbacker Causeway, according to CBS News reporting. There were allegedly two men on each of the PWC’s, which were traveling in the waters north of the Rickenbacker Causeway when they crashed.

At least two men, described by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials as being in their 40s, were taken to the Ryder Trauma Center. The men were said to be in “serious but stable” condition and were taken to the hospital as a precaution, CBS News reported.

Boat in Deadly Biscayne Bay Hit-And-Run Crash Found, police say

Police say they have found the boat they believe was involved in a hit-and-run boat crash on Biscayne Bay that killed a father and injured his son last week in Miami, according to local media.

Police did not name the owner of the boat or say who was operating the vessel the night of the deadly crash.

The incident happened on the night of Wednesday, March 25, while the father and son were on a 7-foot dinghy in the Meloy Channel near Indian Creek and Biscayne Point in Biscayne Bay. The two were hit by another vessel, which police later identified as a 20-30-foot boat that is dark blue with black bottom paint.

Construction Worker in Miami Dies Following 20-Foot Fall. What to Know.

A construction worker died after a horrific fall onto Biscayne Boulevard on Monday, March 23, according to reporting from The Miami Herald.

No name has been released as of Wednesday, March 25. Officials with Florida Highway Patrol told reporters that the incident happened just before 4 a.m. The man fell about 20 feet from the overpass on Interstate 395, landing on the street.

He died at the scene, and the area was closed as officials and emergency responders investigated the incident.

Florida Home’s Possible Carbon Monoxide Leak Kills Four, Including Children. What to Know.

Police are citing carbon monoxide poisoning as a possible cause of death for four people, including two children, who were found inside a Marion County home Friday, Feb. 6.

The bodies were found Friday night after police were called out to the home on Banyan Track Way for a wellness check, according to reporting from NBC 6 South Florida.

No official cause of death has been released by the coroner’s office. Police did tell reporters that no foul play is suspected and that they believed the family had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
