Dozens of Health Violations Shut Down Hialeah Public Swimming Pools. What to Know.

In a week of mounting temperatures and National Weather Service heat advisories throughout Miami, the City of Hialeah closed its three remaining public swimming pools following Florida Health Department findings.

The city’s Bucky Dent Water Park, which reopened in July after a year-long closure, once again closed following an incident involving an 80-year-old man who had a medical emergency while in a pool. It was later revealed that the facilities were operating without proper permits and that there was a problem with equipment at the water park, according to reporting from The Miami Herald.

Outside of that, the three pools — McDonald Pool, Milander Pool and Babcock Pool — will temporarily close after several violations were found. A pool with no chlorine, broken safety equipment, and other potential hazards are among the contraventions found by inspectors on the properties.

Florida Home’s Possible Carbon Monoxide Leak Kills Four, Including Children. What to Know.

Police are citing carbon monoxide poisoning as a possible cause of death for four people, including two children, who were found inside a Marion County home Friday, Feb. 6.

The bodies were found Friday night after police were called out to the home on Banyan Track Way for a wellness check, according to reporting from NBC 6 South Florida.

No official cause of death has been released by the coroner’s office. Police did tell reporters that no foul play is suspected and that they believed the family had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Third Child Dies in Miami Beach Barge-Sailboat Crash. What to Know.

A 10-year-old girl has died at the hospital days after being involved in a barge-sailboat crash in Miami Beach that killed two other children.

Arielle Mazi Buchman died Thursday at Jackson Memorial Hospital, according to reporting from The Miami Herald.

Mila Tankelevich, 7, and 13-year-old Erin Victoria Ko Han died on July 28, the day that the 17-foot Hobie Getaway they were on as a part of a Miami Yacht Club summer camp program was hit by a 60-foot barge. The barge was being pulled by a tugboat.

Two Dead in Head-On Collision in Pompano Beach Monday. How many crashes has Florida had in 2025?

At least two people have died after a head-on crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Pompano Beach Monday morning, according to reporting from The Miami Herald.

The crash happened around 12:50 a.m. near Atlantic Boulevard and involved a 2004 Acura TL sedan and a 2019 Mercedes A220 sedan, officials with Florida Highway Patrol told the newspaper. The Acura was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the turnpike when it collided with the Mercedes

After the collision, the Acura hit a concrete barrier and burst into flames.

An investigation is currently underway to reveal the cause of a fire that erupted from a Miami Gardens home Wednesday morning, according to local media reporting.

Firefighters were called out to the home near 15221 Northwest 33^rd Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

At least one person was taken to the hospital, possibly to treat injuries from smoke inhalation, according to reporting from WSVN.
