At least two families tragically lost their homes following separate fires in Vero and Boynton Beaches over the weekend, according to local media.

The first fire broke out Saturday at a home near 21st Court in Vero Beach. At least seven people were displaced after the fire engulfed their home. Of the seven people, five are children.

Sunday morning in Boynton Beach, a family of three and their dogs were displaced after a fire started near NW 10th Court, a home in the Skylake neighborhood.

Firefighters put out a blaze at a high-rise in North Miami Beach that caught fire overnight Saturday, according to reporting from The Miami Herald.

Emergency responders were called out to the area just before 7 p.m. Friday after getting reports that a 10-story apartment building near the 3700 block of Northeast 166th Street had caught fire. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from an apartment on the sixth floor and evacuated everyone inside. The fire did not spread to nearby units.

At least three people were treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require transport to a nearby hospital. One resident told reporters that she noticed debris falling onto her balcony. She ran from her apartment and knocked on the doors of her neighbors to alert them before fleeing the building.

An investigation is currently underway to reveal the cause of a fire that erupted from a Miami Gardens home Wednesday morning, according to local media reporting.

Firefighters were called out to the home near 15221 Northwest 33rd Avenue around 5:30 a.m.

At least one person was taken to the hospital, possibly to treat injuries from smoke inhalation, according to reporting from WSVN.

A fire that broke out Monday night left at least one person hospitalized and several neighbors running from their beds and clamoring for their pets to get to safety.

Firefighters and emergency personnel were called out to the 4200 block of Northeast Ninth Street around 11 p.m. for the flames.

The person who was hospitalized has not been named, but officials told reporters with Channel 7 News that they were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. The two-story home where the flames began had smoke damage and shattered windows following the fire.

At least one person died and four others were hospitalized with severe burns following a boat explosion at a marina in Dania Beach, according to reporting from The Miami herald. 

The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. Friday when a boat that was delivered to the marina for work before the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, which is expected to run from Wednesday until Nov. 3. 

The boat exploded after five workers began fueling, according to local media. Witnesses reported hearing a “massive boom” before emergency responders rushed to the scene to get people to the hospital.
